Fire in the Sky: A Jessica Blackwood Short Story (Related to the Jessica Blackwood series)
Author: Andrew Mayne
4.5 out of 5 stars
50 years ago, Edgar saw something strange in a Louisiana swamp. No one ever took him seriously, but he has persisted every year in trying to talk to the FBI. Finally he has his chance to talk to Agent Jessica Blackwood and rookie agent Nadine. Will they be willing to look into his story, and will they find any answers if they do?
This is a very short story of less than 20 pages, but I really enjoyed it. The story had a satisfying conclusion, and it made me really interested in reading the other Jessica Blackwood books. I got a feel for Jessica’s personality, and she seems like a compelling character. It also gives the reader a glimpse into her relationships with her boss and Nadine.
My only critique is that there was nothing transitional to show time jumps, but this was a minor issue so I’m rating it 4.5 out of 5 stars. This is a good book for anyone who had read or is thinking about reading the main Jessica Blackwood series.
