In this anthology, seven authors have each chosen a fairy tale to rewrite with a steampunk twist. Some included more steampunk elements, like mechanical dolls, and made bigger changes, while others were a bit more subtle.

Regardless of how steampunk they were, I really enjoyed the stories, although a few were a bit sad like some fairy tales are. The steampunk setting gave these stories such a fun and interesting twist. They were all well written and well edited. And despite the different authors and writing styles, they all flowed well together.

The hint of steampunk that some of them had, instead of making it more obvious, was the only negative for me, but that’s more personal taste. Otherwise these well written stories fully deserve 5 out of 5 stars. Any fan of fairy tales will enjoy these.
